Comic-Con Day 3
Dreary conditions outside and just overall soreness caused me to wrap up things earlier than I wanted to today but this gives me space to think about some of the topics/news I have heard about from fans and insiders throughout the Con...
-The "new" Daredevil suit for the Netflix series... Once I saw it, I immediately thought back to the Daredevil outfit from the Incredible Hulk TV film. It isn't as cringe worthy as some would think. Sure I would have like to see more red in the scheme but I taking a wait and see approach.
-Amazing the love Clark Gregg gets wherever he goes. He was mobbed the instant he showed his face outside and walking around the convention. The panel for Agents of SHIELD was standing room only and the roar when he was announced probably could be heard outside the doors. I have to admit I was wrong. I often said that Samuel Jackson or Robert Downey Jr. were the ones who benefited the most from the movie franchises. Nope. The movies have made Clark Gregg a superstar.
-Anyone else see the Guardians of the Galaxy animated footage and think of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes with the artistic style?
-Adam West has still got it. I don't know what it is, but he has it....
-I have to give DC Animation kudos again. I like the way they handled the Throne of Atlantis preview and had a great explanation as to why they made the changes to Justice League War from prose to film. Showed that they were looking ahead to the next feature, which was this...
-In addition, I love the fact that they are using the success of Assault on Arkham to push a Suicide Squad headline joint... however, there is no way Brainiac on the team works... but DC Animation has proven me wrong in the past so....
-I have to admit also that seeing George Clooney at the Con was a big surprise in his promotion for Tomorrowland... still I maintain that Disney is way under-promoting Big Hero 6 by comparison....
-The Joker and Harley Quinn invasion was awesome but my cosplay winners of the day was the dude in the Voltron suit and I know a couple of people saw the Vampire Lord from The Strain cosplay, complete with mini coffin.....
-Speaking of cosplay, I know you folks want accuracy when you do your thing but why are you shocked to have weapons taken away? I mean, did you all forget that we are in NYC? Authorities are still a little touchy on the subject of weapons here...
-Hottest panel: Batman 75th Anniversary Panel. Why? Do we even need to ask anymore? He's Batman.....
One more day... I can bear the pain one more day.... Don't pray for me because I'm already dead....
