Seasons Greetings to all our stalwart Afronerd Radio listeners! We're back at it AGAIN with a two-hour showcase, filled with mirth, mayhem and mind expansion! It's Wednesday's Mid Week in Review airing 7:30pm EST. Join Dburt and Capt. Kirk for another captivating sonic voyage when we interview esteemed author/journalist, Cora Daniels (Ghetto Nation) to discuss her latest literary effort, Impolite Conversations: On Race, Politics, Sex, Money and Religion. Ms. Daniels' (with co-author,John L. Jackson, Jr.) Impolite Conversations, puts forth the notion of highlighting uncomfortable issues concerning the Black community with a type of prosaic frankness that might just fit in with a show called Afronerd. Folks, this is not the show to miss.
And for the second half, we will literally continue with the segment we failed to broadcast due to time constraints stemming from our last great guest, Jamie Broadnax (of Black Girl Nerds). The topics to be addressed are: the Ferguson aftermath spurs Black athletes to become politically active; is Geraldo Rivera correct about likening Black victimization to a form of urban suicide?; is hip hop artist, Jay-Z, the right police misconduct advisor for NY Governor, Andrew Cuomo; the new "Hands Up" anti-police rap video causes outrage and lastly, the minstrelsy continues with a new website entitled lightskinordarkskin.com that judges one's skin tone (really?). Call the hosts live at 646-915-9620.
